While gold and silver foils are the most commonly used, there is a range of different colours and types of foils available. Unlike traditional ink printing, foiling is applied by a heated metal plate which stamps the foil material onto the paper or plastic.
Try to avoid using foiling for very intricate shapes, lines or text less than 10pt as the foil can spread marginally, and fine detail may not reproduce accurately. Holographic foiling is also available.
