Scodix (also known as Raised Spot Gloss) is another gloss effect. Like Spot UV, the effect is applied to a particular part or section of your design. However, unlike Spot UV, Scodix produces a raised (3D) effect. With a raised super glossy appearance, Scodix is a stunning way to highlight certain elements in a design. The effect works best when applied on top of velvet laminate for maximum contrast.
Due to the nature of it’s raised finish, Scodix can ‘fill in’ on some very fine lines and serif fonts. We recommend the effect is applied thicker Sans-serif fonts and elements for best results. Again, due to the nature of it’s raised finish, the effect cannot bleed off the edge of a design, or be placed over a fold or score line.
